Who We Are and What We Stand For
Understanding that it is helpful to know beforehand what a Church believes in order to more knowledgeably decide to “test the waters”, we offer this summary in hope that those who are seeking the same things with the same heart may desire to join with us as we seek to follow the Lord.
We are an Independent Bible-believing congregation that is in line with most Independent Baptists in both doctrine and practice. We reject the modern ideology of most churches today that are more interested in keeping up a good image in front of the world and worldling professors of Christianity than they are concerned with what God actually says concerning the world and worldling professors.
We hold to the King James Version of the Bible as the Authoritative Word of God in English. We reject every other modern English version as being tainted, first, in their source, and secondly as a result of their faulty source and due to questionable translational methods, in their substance.
We believe that God is concerned that we worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. We will not use the pattern of this world or the music of this world to attempt to offer our devotion, praises, and thanksgiving before Him - as if He could be pleased with anything remotely of this world with its lusts of the flesh, the eyes, and the pride of life. We believe God desires that we should be clothed before Him, as well as before others, in modesty, humility and love; and that this should be reflected on the outward man. It is God’s design to keep the principle of distinction in created order between male and female in the clothing we wear. Men should wear men’s clothing and women should dress in women’s clothing.
We believe that it is every man’s responsibility to believe the Gospel. That God is not willing that any should perish is evidenced by the fact that He has not yet returned to catch His Bride unto Himself. We reject both of the theologically opposed and extreme systems known as Calvinism and Arminianism. Man is saved by grace alone when he repents of his sins and willfully places his faith in Jesus Christ alone, apart from any works or merit on his part; and once saved, the believer in Jesus Christ has eternal life and will never perish. Being born again by the Spirit of God will bring a changed life and focus as well as assurance that he is God’s child. This assurance is not based on any merit or keeping of himself but on the Word of God and on the life changing power that God has wrought within.
We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is coming again soon in an imminent manner in the clouds to catch His Church unto Himself; after which He will begin to completely turn His focus completely towards drawing wayward Israel back to Himself during that 7 year time period prophetically known as Daniel’s Seventieth Week or Jacob’s Trouble. We hold the distinction between God’s purposes for Israel and His purposes for the Church. They are two distinct bodies with two distinct plans.
